The October edition of the Castro Art Walk is tomorrow with 15 art exhibits all across the amazing Castro Arts District in San Francisco.  You don’t want to miss it!


The Castro Art Walk is 5 - 8, and some businesses stay even later.  


Paper maps can be picked up in any of the participating stores. Feel free to tag us in any social media posts @castroartwalk and use hashtags #CAW #CastroArtWalk.

Join us for the first Guided Tour of the Castro Art Walk with our volunteer, Sophie.  It starts at 6pm and we’ll visit all 15 locations with the most optimal route.


Featured Art Exhibits:

#1 Chartreuse by Roje (2095 Market St):


Alison Price’s *Purely Textural Map Points* series, Hezon Hyeon’s floral arrangements, Sun Lee's *Auspicious Beginning* series, Saniya Sayyad paintings, and Ian James leather maker on display at Chartreuse by Roje.

#2 The Academy (2166 Market St):

Join us for a night celebrating the work of Peter Berlin, the legendary San Francisco-based photographer, artist, filmmaker, clothing designer, and model. We will have dozens of Peter's iconic self portrait photographs and ephemera on display – and for sale – in The Academy's Legends Hall.

#3 Flore Dispensary (258 Noe St):


Flore Dispensary will feature the work of Natalie McKean

#4 Art House SF (2324 Market St):


Learn about traditional African fabrics and people of Johannesburg through the work of the South African Tsholo “Splash” Motong.  Last weekend to see the exhibit, don’t miss it!

#5 STRUT (470 Castro St):


We are exhibiting the work of Juno Rosenhaus for the month of October! Please join us Friday, October 6th! at 8PM for the art opening reception! Light snacks, wine, and non alcoholic drinks will be provided! Come for the free wine, stay for the incredible queer art!


This event is from 8 to 10pm.

#6 Blush Wine Bar (476 Castro St):

Fabulosa Books will be featuring the rock 'n' roll photography of Gwyn Waters

#8 Local Take (4122 18th St):  


Local Take will feature a selection of local San Francisco Bay Area artists

#10 Welcome Castro (525 Castro St):  


Raymundo Valdez is a Mexican-American listed fine artist born and raised in Mexico City. Raymundo’s work has been acquired by numerous private art collectors around the world including Buenos Aires, Dallas, SF, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and Mexico City. He has participated in several group exhibitions.

#11 Aegean Delights (545 Castro St):  


Aegean Delights will feature art by Alan Beckstead, Luke Andahazy.

#12 How It’s Hanging (548 Castro St):  


Evergreen exhibition will be featuring various local artist with art in all Shades of green to welcome and celebrate the new ownership here at Hows it Hanging plants and more! Even though fall is here some things stay green including this store . Fresh plants, art and business owners.

#13 Queer Arts Featured (575 Castro St):  


"Heavenly Bodies, Divine Minds" explores the agency and divinity of the trans,queer, and gender non-conforming experience. This exhibit is curated by @Figs.fantasy and features 14 local queer artists.

#14 Ruby’s Clay Studio and Gallery (552A Noe St):


Kind of WildDelve into the imaginative and lighthearted realms of nature through the works of three distinct artists: Marisol Del Río, Nikki Kwong, and Judi Mozesson.  This showcase celebrates the playful and remarkable world of flora and fauna through beauty, whimsy, and humor.  Each piece challenges and redefines our understanding of what it means to be “wild”.  Kind of Wild aims to uplift and inspire, inviting viewers to take a pause from the mundanity of city living and embrace a sense of curiosity and joy.

#15 MAG Galleries (3931 18th St):  


"for you or someone you know", Sculpture by Alice Wu.  At first glance, the freestanding sculptures might appear to be molded, plaster-like material that has been painted a palette that evokes a wide range of reactions.  In contrast to the rigid appearance, both the freestanding and the wall pieces are created from fine fabric remnants that Alice used in her clothing designs and creations.  The exhibition of technically and beautifully created, fabric sculpture invokes cultural and personal relevance, and a variety of emotional reactions including simple joy!
